A police officer is missing after students allegedly attacked a Kisii exam team investigating suspected examination malpractice on Thursday.
Corporal Leonard Siele reportedly suffered a serious assault during the confrontation at Nyabisase Mixed Secondary School. His whereabouts became unknown after the incident, which occurred at about 10.30am.

Kisii exam team followed malpractice alert
Police said KNEC official Gioko Kanyi had alerted authorities to suspected examination malpractice at the school. The team then visited the institution to investigate.
During the visit, officials reportedly found a laptop hidden behind the school administration offices. They subsequently called DCI officers from Nyamache to respond.
However, students allegedly attacked police officers and KNEC officials before the investigators arrived. During the confrontation, students also reportedly seized Siele’s Toyota Succeed, extensively damaged it and stole personal belongings from inside.
Siele took part in the examination monitoring operation alongside Inspector Peterson Amimo and Police Constable Edward Onyango. NIS officer Boniface Muli also joined the operation.
DCI officers from Nyamache later visited the school as investigations began. Their inquiries cover suspected examination malpractice, the alleged assault, property damage and Siele’s disappearance.
Meanwhile, efforts to locate the missing corporal continue.
