KRA plans to use business payment channels to track undeclared income and compare PAYE records with third-party data.
The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) plans to use till numbers and Pochi La Biashara to track undeclared income. The KRA income tracking plan targets these business payment channels as part of its tax checks.
KRA income tracking through business payments
The planned scrutiny centres on income that taxpayers have not declared. Till numbers and Pochi La Biashara are the payment channels identified for these checks.
PAYE records also face scrutiny
Alongside the income checks, KRA is also considering comparing Pay As You Earn (PAYE) records with third-party data. Through that comparison, the authority aims to identify employers who are not remitting the taxes.
