Detectives are examining a recovered motorcycle for its alleged role in the killing of lawyer Mathew Kyalo Mbobu.
Detectives say a boda boda rider identified the recovered motorcycle as the one he allegedly used to transport the suspected gunman during the September 9 attack.
Detectives investigating lawyer Mathew Kyalo Mbobu’s murder have recovered a motorcycle linked to the shooting.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) said the motorcycle allegedly transported the suspected gunman to and from the scene.
Investigators recovered the motorcycle after arresting boda boda rider Nicholas Lemiso Naula.
The DCI suspects Naula transported the alleged gunman on September 9, 2025.
Mbobu was shot dead in Nairobi on the same day.
Detectives have since taken the motorcycle to the Homicide Offices for examination.
Motorcycle Traced Through Several Owners
According to the DCI, Naula provided detectives with information about the motorcycle during interrogation.
He allegedly told investigators that he rode the motorcycle while transporting the suspected gunman.
Detectives then traced the motorcycle through several successive owners.
Eventually, they located and recovered the vehicle.
The DCI said Naula later identified it as the motorcycle he allegedly used during the attack.
Investigators will now examine its movements and possible connection to the shooting.
Three Suspects Arrested
The latest recovery follows the arrest of three suspects in connection with the investigation.
They include the suspected gunman and two boda boda riders.
Detectives are examining the alleged transport arrangements surrounding the shooting.
They are also investigating the role each suspect allegedly played before and after the attack.
Additionally, investigators have recovered motorcycles allegedly used to transport the gunman and track Mbobu.
The recoveries could help detectives reconstruct the movements surrounding the shooting.
Detectives Pursue More Evidence
Mbobu was shot dead in Nairobi on September 9, 2025.
Since then, homicide detectives have worked to establish what happened before, during and after the shooting.
The DCI said officers are pursuing additional suspects and evidence.
Meanwhile, forensic examination of the recovered motorcycle will form part of the ongoing investigation.
Detectives want to establish its movements and determine whether it played a role in the murder.
However, the circumstances surrounding Mbobu’s killing remain under investigation.
The allegations against the arrested suspects have not been tested in court and remain subject to due process.
