K’Ogalo maintain their perfect start with a 1-0 victory, while four clubs share five points behind them.
Gor Mahia lead the SportPesa Premier League by four points after beating Bandari 1-0 in their third match. The victory takes K’Ogalo to nine points and preserves their perfect start to the season.
They have scored six goals and conceded twice across three matches. Meanwhile, newly promoted 3K FC, Mara Sugar, AFC Leopards and Shabana head the chasing pack on five points each.
Gor Mahia lead as unbeaten challengers gather
3K FC secured their first top-flight victory by defeating Murang’a Seal 2-1 after opening with two draws. The newcomers now have five points from their first three Premier League outings.
Mara Sugar also remain unbeaten, although a goalless draw against Ulinzi Stars denied them another victory. They sit alongside AFC Leopards and Shabana, who drew 0-0 at Nyayo.
Both Leopards and Shabana have avoided defeat, with their defensive records helping them stay near the top. Ingwe have conceded just once, while Shabana have kept clean sheets in all three matches.
However, Shabana have scored only one goal, leaving room for improvement in attack despite their strong defensive start.
Games in hand complicate the chasing order
Kakamega Homeboyz occupy sixth place with four points and a match in hand. KCB also have four points, but their 1-0 defeat to Posta Rangers leaves them seventh.
Meanwhile, Tusker sit eighth on three points after playing only once. Their limited involvement makes their current league position difficult to assess alongside clubs with three matches completed.
Murang’a Seal follow in ninth on three points despite scoring eight goals. However, seven goals conceded and two defeats have undermined their attacking return.
Nairobi United remain unbeaten after drawing 1-1 with APS Bomet, but three straight draws leave them on three points. Posta Rangers also reached three points, with their victory over KCB ending a run of two defeats.
Promoted clubs seek stronger returns
Migori Youth drew 0-0 with Mathare United and now have two points from two matches. The promoted side have scored once and conceded once as they adjust to the top flight.
Meanwhile, fellow debutants Mombasa United remain bottom with one point from three games after drawing 0-0 against Kenya Police. They have lost twice and conceded three goals, although the clean sheet offers encouragement.
Mathare United and Ulinzi Stars complete the bottom three, each with two points. Both added a point through goalless draws, but wins remain the next target as the campaign develops.
