Kenya’s Icons Set Global Standards in Guinness World Records

Guinness World Records: A Global Institution
Founded in 1955, Guinness World Records celebrates human achievements and natural extremes. Since then, Kenyans have earned global recognition through sports, education, and unique feats.

Truphena Muthoni: Environmental Activist
Truphena Muthoni entered Guinness World Records after hugging a tree continuously for 48 hours. Moreover, she later attempted a 72-hour record, pending official confirmation.

Eliud Kipchoge: Marathon Legend
In 2019, Eliud Kipchoge became the first athlete to run a marathon under two hours. Additionally, he won multiple Olympic gold medals and retired after completing the Abbott Seven Marathons in 2025.

David Rudisha: 800m World Record Holder
David Rudisha set the men’s 800m world record of 1:40.91 at the London 2012 Olympics. Consequently, his performance remains one of the greatest Olympic track moments.

Maliha Mohammed: Culinary Champion
Maliha Mohammed broke the record for the longest cooking marathon in 2019, cooking for 75 hours. Later, she achieved another Guinness World Record by cooking for 90 hours in 2023.
