Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro has unveiled Benny Hinn Walubengo as Secretary General of the People’s Party. Nyoro announced the new leadership team on September 22, 2026. The appointments form the party’s first set of designated officials.
Walubengo Named Secretary General
Walubengo, who represents Nairobi County, is 24 years old. Nyoro specifically highlighted his age and described him as “intelligent” and “articulate.”
The appointment gives Walubengo a senior role as the party develops its internal structures. Meanwhile, six other officials received key positions within the party.
Six Other Officials Appointed
The new officials include Riziki Makokha as Deputy Party Leader from Busia County. Samora K’alosi will serve as Chairperson from Homa Bay County. Additionally, Mwanamisi Swaleh will serve as Vice Chairperson from Kwale County.
Furthermore, John Kihiu becomes Deputy Secretary General for Administration Affairs. He represents Kiambu County.
Mahad Abdi takes the Treasurer position from Mandera County. Finally, Dr Jane Sibia becomes Organising Secretary from Kisii County.
People’s Party Plans Opposition Cooperation
According to Nyoro, the party will work with other opposition formations. He said the party wants to develop policy alternatives focused on Kenya’s economic revival.
“We will work solidly with all Parties within the opposition as we offer credible policy alternatives for the revival of our Economy,” Nyoro said.
Party Builds Its Leadership Structure
The latest appointments come as the People’s Party expands its activities across Kenya. Nyoro joined the People’s Party in August after leaving the United Democratic Alliance. Since then, he has embarked on political mobilisation and recruitment activities.
Therefore, the new leadership team will help establish the party’s organisational structure. The appointments also come as political parties prepare for the 2027 General Election.
As a result, the People’s Party is now positioning its leadership and policy structures ahead of the next phase of political activity.
