Justice Kavedza handed the preacher separate 100-year prison terms for the murders of children and adults.
Paul Mackenzie has received a total prison sentence of 200 years over deaths linked to the Shakahola massacre. Justice Kavedza handed down the sentence in Mombasa on November 6.
The court imposed a 100-year term for the murder of children. It also sentenced the preacher to another 100 years for the murder of adults, bringing the total to 200 years.
The sentencing follows Mackenzie’s prosecution over the deaths of followers of the Good News International Church. The case involved allegations that followers were encouraged to starve themselves to death as part of a religious fast.
