President William Ruto will join African leaders and Russian officials as Kenya seeks trade, investment and technology partnerships.
President William Ruto has arrived in Moscow for the third Russia-Africa Summit and Economic and Humanitarian Forum. Kenya aims to strengthen ties with Russia in trade, investment, energy, infrastructure and technology.
The Russian Embassy in Kenya confirmed his arrival through a post on X. It also described the visit as Ruto’s first trip to Russia since taking office.
Russia-Africa Summit brings leaders together
The gathering brings together African leaders and Russian officials to discuss economic cooperation and their broader relations. For Kenya, these discussions offer an opportunity to explore investment partnerships and expand trade.
Kenya also seeks cooperation in energy, infrastructure development and technology. These sectors form part of the country’s economic priorities for the engagement.
Kenya seeks investment and market opportunities
Beyond trade, Kenya’s agenda includes pursuing partnerships that could support development in its strategic sectors. The visit centres on exploring opportunities for cooperation rather than announcing completed agreements.
Meanwhile, African countries continue to engage international partners as they pursue investment and wider market access. Their priorities also include technology transfer and development financing, providing the broader context for the Moscow gathering.
