President William Ruto with Charlene and Rachel during wedding preparations in Mwanza.
A video captures the President cooling his daughter and wife with a portable fan before Charlene married Tanzanian businessman Isaya Yunge.
President William Ruto fans Charlene and First Lady Rachel Ruto in a video from his daughter’s wedding preparations in Mwanza, Tanzania. The clip shows him holding a small electric fan as the family waits to enter the venue.
Charlene stands between her parents in a white bridal gown and long veil, holding her bouquet. Ruto directs the breeze towards her face before also turning the device towards Rachel in the warm conditions.
The President wears a patterned blazer with black trousers, a white shirt and a cream-coloured hat. Meanwhile, Rachel wears a maroon and floral outfit with a matching wide-brimmed hat.
The First Lady appears emotional during the preparations, occasionally lifting a hand towards her face.
Ruto fans Charlene before aisle walk
The family moment came shortly before Ruto and Rachel escorted their daughter down the aisle. Charlene exchanged vows with Tanzanian businessman Isaya Yunge at the outdoor ceremony on Friday, November 6.
The celebrations also followed a traditional Kalenjin Koito ceremony in Kilgoris, Narok County, in August. In Mwanza, the wedding drew attention for its decorated venue, elaborate bridal gown and prominent guests.
However, the brief clip shifted some online attention towards the President’s gesture before the ceremony. Some social media users praised the simple act of care for his wife and daughter.
While the wider celebration featured formal wedding arrangements, the video captured a quieter moment as the family waited together.
