The declaration places the two leaders’ stated political ambitions on separate tracks: Sifuna in the presidential contest, with Owino seeking the county’s top seat. It also comes amid questions over the political vehicle and leadership ambitions associated with Linda Mwananchi.
Owino backs Sifuna’s presidential bid
Owino’s position is that he will back Sifuna for the presidency rather than pursue that office himself. His own electoral target is the Nairobi governorship.
The support is a statement of Owino’s intended political direction ahead of the 2027 election. It should not, however, be read as confirmation of a joint campaign structure, a party nomination or an agreed leadership arrangement.

Owino’s stated preference establishes his position on Sifuna’s presidential bid, but does not by itself settle those wider questions. The immediate message is that he intends to support Sifuna nationally while seeking the Nairobi governorship.
