Organisers open ticket sales on Thursday evening for the January 5, 2027 friendly and warn fans against fraudulent sellers.

Bayern Ajax tickets will start at Sh2,500 for the January 5, 2027 friendly at Nairobi’s Raila Odinga International Stadium. Sales open on Thursday at 6pm through the official Talanta Sports City website.

The match will formally open the 60,000-seat stadium, with organisers offering seven ticket categories. However, they have warned supporters against fraudulent sellers already advertising tickets online.

Bayern Ajax tickets: seating options and fraud warning

Fans can choose Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, Gold, Platinum, Skyboxes or Accessible seating. The ticketing platform will display the full price list, while premium hospitality packages will also be available.

Level 1 has 28 sections, Level 2 has 20, and Level 3 has 36. Gold and Platinum each have five sections, while Skyboxes have 58 and Accessible seating has 28.

Meanwhile, a lookalike website has advertised inflated prices, including purported VVIP tickets costing Sh80,000. Organisers have warned that the site has no authorisation to sell tickets for the match.

They have urged fans to buy exclusively through official channels and make payments only through verified routes. Tickets from unauthorised sellers may be invalid.

Ticket costs have also sparked social media debate, with some supporters questioning prices above Sh10,000. Organisers, however, maintain that the cheapest option will cost Sh2,500.

First-team commitments and public funding challenge

Sports Cabinet Secretary Mvurya said Bayern Munich and Ajax had made written commitments to field their strongest possible first-team line-ups. He also stressed that the fixture would not feature legends or academy teams.

President William Ruto announced the match on October 28, drawing excitement alongside criticism over its financial implications. Six Kenyans have since petitioned the Milimani High Court over public funding for the event.

The petitioners want to stop the government from committing public money or resources towards the January 5 fixture. They also seek disclosure of sponsorship agreements, government commitments and the match’s financial arrangements.

However, on November 3, the High Court declined to certify their application as urgent. It directed them to serve the respondents and interested parties, with a mention scheduled for November 25.

The petition remains pending, with no final court determination. Meanwhile, the stadium will serve as one of Kenya’s key venues for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, co-hosted with Uganda and Tanzania.
