Treasury urges users to complete urgent transactions before maintenance starts at 10 pm on November 7.

The National Treasury has announced overnight e-Citizen maintenance from 10 pm on November 7 to 5 am on November 8. Users may face temporary interruptions or limited access to government digital services during the seven-hour window.

In a public notice, the Treasury urged members of the public and other users to plan ahead. It also advised them to complete urgent transactions before work begins.

The Government Digital Payments Department issued the notice, warning that interruptions could also affect associated services. Users should therefore account for the maintenance window when planning their transactions.

e-Citizen maintenance targets performance and security

The Treasury said the work will support system upgrades, improve performance and strengthen the platform’s security. It also aims to maintain reliable access to services through the government’s digital platform.

A second overnight maintenance session will follow next weekend, starting at 10 pm on November 14. That exercise will end at 5 am on November 15, creating another seven-hour maintenance window.

The two scheduled sessions fall a week apart, with each running from late evening into the following morning. Users planning transactions on either date should take the overnight timetable into account.

Meanwhile, the Treasury apologised for the inconvenience the interruptions may cause. It appealed for patience and understanding while the maintenance work takes place.
