Kenyan marathon legend Eliud Kipchoge has unveiled a bespoke mechanical watch weighing just 57 grams, celebrating his remarkable career and Kenyan heritage.
Named Feather, the personalised timepiece was created by Swiss watch-customisation workshop Artisans de Genève. The project reflects Kipchoge’s pursuit of excellence, his record-breaking marathon journey and his connection to his roots.
The watch was unveiled on October 26, 2026, marking a new chapter in the athlete’s story beyond the running track.
Feather Pursues Extreme Lightness
Kipchoge’s project centred on reducing weight without compromising the watch’s structure or craftsmanship. Artisans de Genève developed a custom case using Titalum®, an alloy of titanium and aluminium. The material helps bring the timepiece’s total weight down to 57 grams.
The workshop also redesigned the watch’s mechanical movement. Its skeletonised construction exposes the intricate components beneath the transparent sapphire crystal.
In addition, artisans hand-finished the movement to give the timepiece a distinctive appearance. The result combines traditional watchmaking techniques with a design inspired by Kipchoge’s discipline and precision.

Kenyan Heritage Shapes the Design
Feather pays tribute to Kenya through its colours and visual details. Red, green and white accents appear across the watch’s hands, counters and other components. These colours reflect the Kenyan flag and the landscapes that shaped Kipchoge’s journey.
The watch also carries the spirit of his famous philosophy, “No human is limited.” Kipchoge has often linked his achievements to the discipline he developed while training in Kaptagat. The custom design brings that personal connection into a luxury timepiece.
In his testimonial published by the workshop, Kipchoge described the red soil of Kaptagat as a source of strength and inspiration.
A Personal Commission, Not a Retail Watch
Artisans de Genève specialises in modifying watches at the request of their owners. The company says it does not manufacture or sell watches itself.
Consequently, Feather is a personalised commission rather than a mass-produced retail release. The workshop lists an estimated customisation service price of CHF 56,520 before tax. That figure covers the personalisation service, not the sale of a new watch.
For Kipchoge, Feather represents more than an accessory. It connects the precision of mechanical craftsmanship with a career built on endurance, determination and the belief that human potential has no fixed limits.
