The Environment and Lands Court in Eldoret has confirmed Eunita Kibor as the rightful executor of Jackson Kibor’s estate.
Justice Emmanuel Washe ruled on September 22, 2026, in the long-running family succession dispute. The estate is estimated to be worth more than KSh3 billion.
Court Confirms Eunita Kibor as Executor
Justice Washe ruled that there was no doubt Eunita was the sole executor of Kibor’s estate. She will administer the estate alongside Kibor’s former lawyer, Jonah Bundotich.
The ruling gives Eunita a key legal role in managing the late tycoon’s assets. However, the decision follows a bitter dispute involving more than 16 of Kibor’s children.
The children had challenged Eunita’s position and raised concerns over the estate’s administration.
Children Challenge Kibor’s Will
The children accused their stepmother of relying on a forged will. They claimed the will gave Eunita and her four children a larger share of the inheritance. They also raised concerns about several properties linked to the estate.
These included a commercial building in Eldoret City and the 320-acre Mafuta Farm. The family also disputed ownership and control of matrimonial homes in Chepkoilel and Kabebes.
Court Explains Legal Position
Justice Washe dismissed the children’s arguments concerning alleged fraudulent documents. He noted that complaints involving estate transactions must come from the legally recognised executor.
Therefore, the judge advised the children to follow the appropriate legal process if they want Eunita replaced. The court did not prevent them from pursuing that process.
Eunita Defends Her Position
During her testimony, Eunita said Kibor supported her appointment as executor before his death. She also told the court she acted as a trustee of the Eldoret commercial building.
According to Eunita, she managed the property on behalf of her four children. She further described disputes involving Mafuta Farm following Kibor’s death.
Multi-Billion Estate
Jackson Kibor died in March 2022 after building a major agricultural and commercial empire. His assets included large parcels of agricultural land across several counties.
The estate also includes commercial properties, bank accounts, company shares and other assets. Reports state that Kibor had four wives and 27 children.
The latest ruling adds another chapter to the family’s long-running succession dispute. However, the wider estate case continues in court.
