Souleyman Solo D Diabate will lead two November camps at Parklands Sports Club for players aged 12–17, with each week costing Sh17,500.
Two-time Basketball Africa League champion Souleyman Solo D Diabate will lead two Nairobi basketball camps at Parklands Sports Club. The sessions will run on November 16–20 and November 23–27 for young players aged 12–17.
The second edition of the Solo D Signature Basketball camps invites participants to register for either week. Momentum Sports Africa supports the programme in partnership with Force One.
Diabate will bring his professional playing experience and mentorship to training designed to prepare young athletes for competitive basketball. Alongside technical instruction, the programme will address the mental preparation and daily habits that support player development.
Nairobi basketball camps combine skills and mentorship
On court, participants will practise ball handling, shooting, passing, footwork and defensive positioning. They will also work on game awareness and decision-making to strengthen their understanding of competitive play.
Beyond those fundamentals, the camps will include sports nutrition education and sports psychology sessions. These will help players understand healthy performance habits while developing focus, confidence, resilience and mental readiness.
Diabate emphasised that young athletes need preparation, guidance and support, rather than talent alone, to fulfil their potential. His mentorship will therefore cover discipline, teamwork, consistency, coachability and the commitment needed to compete at higher levels.
The approach combines basketball instruction with lessons that extend beyond the court. It also aims to give participants a clearer understanding of professional basketball expectations before they face more demanding competition.
Weekly fee covers coaching, meals and performance education
Each week costs Sh17,500, covering structured basketball training with international coaches and full-day meals. The fee also includes sports nutrition education, sports psychology sessions and exclusive Solo D camp souvenirs.
However, participation does not guarantee selection, scholarships, recruitment or placement. Instead, the programme aims to help athletes build stronger skills, improve their habits and understand the work future opportunities require.
Momentum Sports Africa links the initiative to its wider commitment to athlete development and quality coaching across Africa. That approach also includes performance education and structured routes for players to progress.
By combining these elements, the camps seek to improve participants’ readiness for tougher evaluations and competitive environments. The emphasis remains on preparing young players to demonstrate their abilities, not simply identifying talent.
