Nisre Zouzoua returns to Dar City for November’s Elite 16 tournament in Nairobi.
The Tanzanian champions reunite with Zouzoua and pair him with Senegalese point guard Jean-Jacques Boissy ahead of November’s qualifier.
Dar City have re-signed Ivorian shooting guard Nisre Zouzoua for the Nairobi Elite 16 in November. The tournament forms part of the qualification campaign for the 2027 Basketball Africa League (BAL).
The 30-year-old returns for a second spell with the Tanzanian champions after playing for Rwanda’s RSSB Tigers. He joined the Tigers in June 2026 and represented them at September’s FIBA Intercontinental Cup in China.
That competition brought him up against champions from the NBA G-League, Europe and Asia. He now brings that experience to Dar City as they prepare for the continental qualifier in Kenya.
Nairobi Elite 16 brings regional rivals together
Dar City have also paired Zouzoua with Senegalese point guard Jean-Jacques Boissy, another former Rwanda Energy Group player. The two guards give the Tanzanian side a backcourt with experience beyond their domestic league.
In his last BAL campaign, Zouzoua averaged more than 14 points per game and shot 38 per cent from three-point range. His outside shooting adds a scoring option as Dar City prepare to compete in Nairobi.
Meanwhile, Nairobi City Thunder will enter the tournament with home advantage after winning the Kenya National Basketball League. Thunder have secured direct qualification to the Elite 16 alongside Dar City and Ivory Coast’s JCA Kings.
The November event also marks Kenya’s first continental basketball qualifier of this magnitude in more than a decade. For local supporters, it brings Thunder’s next continental challenge onto home soil.
