Businessman and United Democratic Alliance (UDA) politician Johannes Bolo has donated brand-new motorbikes to a youth group in Westlands, Nairobi.
The donation to the Karura Ward Boda Boda group forms part of his grassroots engagement ahead of the 2027 Nairobi senatorial race.
Bolo says he wants to support young people through economic empowerment and income-generating opportunities. Additionally, he has pledged to extend similar support to youth and women groups across Nairobi’s 17 constituencies.
Bolo Supports Westlands Boda Boda Riders
The motorbike donation targets members of the boda boda sector, which provides livelihoods for many Kenyans. However, riders often face financial challenges when acquiring motorcycles. Some depend on leasing arrangements, which can reduce their daily earnings.
Through the donation, Bolo aims to help the Karura Ward group expand its operations and strengthen its members’ livelihoods.
“We must support our youth with tangible tools that can generate income today,” Bolo said during the handover.
He added that the motorcycles would help the beneficiaries expand their operations and build stronger financial foundations for their families.
Countywide Youth Empowerment Plan
Meanwhile, Bolo has outlined plans to engage youth and women groups across Nairobi. The senatorial aspirant intends to visit all 17 constituencies to identify groups that need support to grow their businesses.
According to his stated plan, the initiative will focus on practical assistance for small-scale entrepreneurs and informal-sector workers.
Rather than relying exclusively on government funding, Bolo says he plans to mobilise personal resources and build strategic partnerships to support community initiatives.
Nevertheless, the scale and timeline of the proposed countywide programme remain important details to watch as the initiative develops.

Bolo Steps Up Nairobi Senate Campaign
The donation also comes as political aspirants begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election. By engaging organised youth groups and boda boda associations, Bolo is placing economic empowerment at the centre of his political messaging.
Furthermore, direct engagement with informal-sector workers could help him build relationships with communities across Nairobi.
Members of the Karura Ward Boda Boda group reportedly welcomed the donation. The motorcycles could help reduce transport operating costs and create opportunities to increase earnings.
As the election approaches, Bolo’s planned outreach will test how far his grassroots initiatives can extend across the capital.
