The couple celebrated in an indoor hall decorated with chandeliers and greenery. Alongside his live set, Nyashinski’s smooth dance moves with the bride and groom gave fans another moment to enjoy online.

The guest list also included Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika, Senator Aaron Cheruiyot and Nelson Koech. ODM politician Opiyo Wandayi attended too. However, it was the musician’s reception appearance that drew excited social media reactions, with clips capturing his performance alongside the couple.

From Kleptomaniax to solo success

Nyashinski, whose real name is Nyamari Ongegu, first gained recognition through the hip-hop group Kleptomaniax. He formed the group with Roba and Collo in 1999 while they attended Nairobi School.

After the group’s early success, he moved to the United States and lived in Delaware. He also worked as a truck driver for about a decade before returning to Kenya in 2016.

On his return, Nyashinski launched a successful solo career with songs including Mungu Pekee and Malaika. He later released his debut solo album, Lucky You, in 2020.

His music combines rap, singing and storytelling, helping sustain his profile in Kenya and across East Africa. Friday’s reception brought those performance skills into a wedding setting, alongside a shared dance with the newlyweds.
