Nyaribari Chache Member of Parliament Zaheer Jhanda has sparked online discussion after revealing the size of his car collection.

The lawmaker disclosed that he owns between 20 and 21 vehicles, including cars used for personal travel, political activities and constituency work. He made the remarks during an interview with Oga Obinna on Obinna TV.

“I have maybe around 15. Maybe not 15, maybe more,” Jhanda said, explaining that the total rises to about 20 or 21 when he includes campaign vehicles and cars used by his team.

G-Wagon Is His Favourite

Among the vehicles, Jhanda identified his 2024 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG G-Wagon as his favourite. The luxury SUV features a distinctive design, a premium interior and powerful performance. Jhanda said the vehicle stood out among his collection, which includes cars serving different purposes.

The MP explained that not every vehicle is meant for personal luxury. Some support his political activities, while others help his team move around Nyaribari Chache.

Why Jhanda Uses Toyota Probox Cars

Despite owning luxury vehicles, Jhanda said he sometimes uses Toyota Probox cars when travelling around his constituency. He explained that his position often attracts public attention, making it difficult to visit certain places unnoticed.

The MP said the Probox allows him to attend activities, including condolence visits, without immediately drawing attention to his arrival. He also clarified that some vehicles in the wider fleet are assigned to members of his team.

Revelation Sparks Online Debate

Jhanda’s disclosure has renewed online discussion about the lifestyles of Kenyan politicians. Some social media users have questioned the public display of wealth amid economic pressures facing many households. Others argue that politicians with private businesses are entitled to enjoy assets acquired through their earnings.

The debate also highlights the distinction between a politician’s personal vehicles and those used for official, campaign or constituency activities.

Jhanda has previously said his income comes from his parliamentary salary and business ventures when discussing his financial support to constituents.

His latest interview has placed his car collection in the spotlight, with the G-Wagon emerging as the vehicle that tops his personal list.
