Kim Kardashian visited Uganda with Kanye West in October 2018.
A new biography recounts a television producer’s allegation that armed officers confronted Kardashian during her trip with Kanye West.
Uganda police officers allegedly held Kim Kardashian at gunpoint during her 2018 visit with then-husband Kanye West. A new biography recounts the allegation through television executive producer Farnaz Farjam.
Journalist Jonathan Van Meter includes Farjam’s account in Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future, released on October 27, 2026. Farjam worked on the reality television programme Keeping Up with the Kardashians.
She said the confrontation happened while the production team filmed at a remote location in Uganda. The trip also included a meeting with President Yoweri Museveni.

Farjam alleged that West grew agitated and believed people around him were trying to drug him. She said he then convinced local police officers that members of his entourage were plotting against him.
Officers subsequently raided rooms occupied by the group, Farjam alleged. During the confrontation, she said, an officer pointed a gun at Kardashian’s head.
Farjam described an intense situation that prompted her to arrange an emergency departure for her production crew. She said she secured a private jet to take them out of Uganda.
However, Farjam later said she forgave West. She linked his behaviour to his struggles with bipolar disorder and what she believed was a manic episode.
Visit included meeting with Museveni
Kardashian and West travelled with their daughter North, who was five at the time. During their stay, the couple met Museveni at State House in Entebbe on October 15, 2018.
Their discussions reportedly centred on tourism and investment. West also gave the president a pair of white sneakers during the visit.
The alleged confrontation came two years after Kardashian survived an armed robbery in Paris. In that 2016 attack, armed men entered her accommodation, tied her up and stole jewellery worth millions of dollars.
Kardashian and West married in 2014 and share four children. They later separated in 2021 and finalised their divorce in 2022.
